To further promote the level of trauma emergency diagnosis and treatment, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital recently invited top expert Prof. Hildebrand, President of European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ECTES) 2025 Aachen, President-elect of German Society for Trauma Surgery (DGU) 2026, Director of Orthopaedics Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery of UniKlinik RWTH Aachen, to make an academic exchange.

As a world-class master in Orthopaedic-Trauma, Prof. Hildebrand introduced many advanced treatment concepts from Europe and Germany on trauma and emergency care during this academic exchange. TIAN Zhaoxing, Director of Emergency Department, LI Yuneng, Chief Physician from Dept. of Orthopaedic-Trauma, GAO Pengji, Director of General Surgery, SUN Weitong, Attending Physician from Dept. of Orthopaedic-Trauma and others attend this academic exchange meeting. The meeting was translated by doctor LIU Xiao and doctor LIAO Xinglan from Emergency Department.

During the exchange webinar, Prof. Hildebrand first introduced some key technical points of international trauma and emergency care. He emphasized that trauma is one of the main causes of mortality in young adult, so it is vital to master trauma and emergency care techniques. Prof. Hildebrand shared in detail the key point and advanced concepts of diagnosis and treatment procedures, such as pre-hospital care, patient transfer, in-hospital care. He also shared the operational experience of trauma and emergency care system in Europe and Germany, which broadened minds of the attendees. Then, Prof. Hildebrand had an in-depth discussion with the attendees about the topic of Surgical treatments to acute pelvic ring injuries. He gave detailed explanations on key points of diagnosis and treatment for patients with poly-trauma combined with pelvic ring injuries, as well as relevant process and applications of techniques, which provided the attendees with valuable experience sharing.

During the meeting, TIAN Zhaoxing, LI Yuneng and GAO Pengji also shared their experience with Prof. Hildebrand on the emergency care management system of trauma patients in Beijing Jishuitan Hospital. LIU Xiao and CHEN Shuang each shared a successful case of emergency treatment for trauma patients. All attendees discussed related topics around the exchange webinar, expressed their views and insights, aiming to explore more efficient and appropriate trauma emergency treatment methods, procedures and cutting-edge technologies.

In addition, accompanied by SUN Weitong, Prof. Hildebrand visited various departments in Xinlongze Campus of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, including Emergency Department, Outpatient Clinic, Intervention Center, Department of Intensive Care Unit, Department of Physical Rehabilitation, and he highly praised the technology and service quality of these specialized departments.

This academic exchange with world-renowned professor not only promotes the development of specialty construction in Beijing Jishuitan Hospital to align with the standards of international top hospitals, to bring the international advanced treatment and service concepts of trauma and  emergency care, but also to further enhance the hospital’s medical service and technological capabilities.
